The Indian Head was in circulation from 1908 - 1929 and only ceased after the market crash, never to resume again. The iconic design was "incuse" meaning the engraving was sunk into the metal instead of raised.

There were a total of 662,000 coins struck and measureed 21.6mm in diameter, contained 90% gold and 10% copper, weighing a total of 8.24g
